I’m a storyteller. any medium will do.
It was during my early years as an ESL teacher that I discovered the healing power of the arts.
I loved watching students from all over the world work together on theatre productions, and by the time everyone knew their lines and the set was painted, we were all friends. It didn’t matter where they were from or which language they spoke.
Art became the universal language.
I believe in art as a form of therapy, and I include everything from performance art to poetry in my work. I have used painting as a strategy for emotional regulation with students, and my journey into the world of children's book illustration began with guided drawing sessions for students on the autism spectrum. I am passionate about the use of colour to illustrate and explore emotions and to enable children to identify and understand their feelings.
